For solo coaches

You are the coach, the office and the evening shift.

Nobody can be brilliant in the room and on top of everything outside it at the same time. Uploop takes the outside.

What actually goes wrong

The bit nobody warned you about.

You trained to coach. Roughly half the week turns out to be something else, and none of that half is billable.

The unpaid half of the week

Chasing a form, rebuilding where somebody got to, writing the invoice, answering the enquiry. A full roster and you are still working Sunday evening to be ready for Monday.

You are the entire memory

Twelve clients is fine. Around twenty-five is where you start a session by asking what you talked about last time, and you both feel it happen.

Growth eats the thing you sell

More clients means more admin, which means less attention per client, which is the only thing anybody was paying for. The practice caps itself long before your diary is full.

Nobody covers you

A week away is a week without income and a fortnight of catching up. There is no colleague to hand the roster to, and the work does not pause because you did.

What changes

The colleague you cannot justify hiring yet.

The work goes out after a session without you opening anything. The client does it in an app with your name on it. What they did is waiting as the brief before the next hour, and you read it in twenty seconds.

Meanwhile the page sells, the calendar holds the slot for fifteen minutes while somebody pays, the intake goes out on its own, and the invoice numbers itself. None of that needs you awake.
